Woodworking at the music store

I was at our local music store yesterday and found a couple of things of note. Check out this slit drum.

Its basically the same as the one I made. The holes in the side do provide a richer sound. Im not sure what kind of wood it is, but it doesnt appear very fancy. But check out the price tag:

Wow. $115. Develop a system and Ill bet most of us could crank one of these out in an hour. The wood would cost under ten bucks.
But hanging on the wall was this really cool marquetry piece:

Now that would be worth more!
